We are an international organisation which works with partners to prevent avoidable blindness and empower people with disabilities in some of the world’s poorest places.

We work to prevent sight loss and avoidable blindness by treating conditions such as cataracts and fighting debilitating eye diseases. We promote equal opportunities for people with disabilities, and we campaign for disability rights so everyone has the chance to receive an education, earn a living and be happy.

Our vision is of a world where avoidable blindness has been eliminated, and people with visual impairments and other disabilities have the same opportunities as everyone else.
