Shepreth Wildlife Conservation Charity
SWCC was established in March 2011 and has been supported by generous contributions of donors, fundraisers and volunteers. The Charity has close links with Shepreth Wildlife Park and makes use of the park’s facilities for its fundraising activities. Since the end of 2012, SWCC’s main project is Shepreth Hedgehog Hospital.
It aims:
– To rehabilitate injured and orphaned wild hedgehogs back into the wild.
– To train volunteers in best practise for rehabilitation of wild animals.
– To educate visitors, educational institutions and public about the plight of the European hedgehog, and methods to increase their survival in the urban environment.
– To monitor post-release success through both our ‘blue tagging’ programme and GPS tracking
