About: Shambala takes place across four days on the August Bank Holiday Weekend at a stunning secret location in the heart of the Northamptonshire countryside. The variety and quality of entertainment on offer is staggering for a festival of its size. With over 200 diverse musical acts across dozens of venues and stages, world-class cabaret, an amazing array of workshops, stand-up comedy, inspirational talks and debates, jaw dropping circus and acrobatics, interactive theatre and nationally acclaimed poetry all housed in beautifully decorated venues.
Pioneering, intimate and truly innovative, Shambala Festival has perfectly blended creativity and participation for well over a decade. Shambala is a special place where you play, revitalise, make lots of new friends and return to the world fuelled-up on the beauty of being alive. As well as being known as a “legendary party”, it is also a haven for cutting edge theatrics and performance, a think-tank of ideas and an award winning green event.
Due to unprecedented demand for volunteering opportunities at Shambala 2022, we are only offering positions to existing and previous volunteers this year.
This means you need to complete a minimum of 4 shifts with us in summer 2022, not including your shifts at Shambala. Remember you will be asked to complete 2 or 3 shifts at all of our residential (weekend) camping festivals and only one shift on each day of our one-day festivals.
There are many ways to complete these shifts but some examples are:
- Volunteer at one residential festival where you will do three shifts such as; Noisily, Boomtown, Boardmasters, and also volunteer at one day event such as Love Saves the Day, All Points East or British Summer Time.
- Volunteer at four, one day events; for example, all three days at Lovebox and then one day at British Summer Time.
If you have volunteered with us in both 2019 and 2021, want to volunteer at Shambala but are unable to meet this requirement then drop us a line at firstname.lastname@example.org
As with all of our events, you must apply and pay your deposit before we can confirm your application, and positions are filled on a first come, first served basis.
If you are accepted to Shambala, and then subsequently cancel other events meaning you no longer meet this requirement we reserve the right to cancel your position at Shambala.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Gates Teams: Our Gates Teams are the first point of contact for all festival-goers on arrival – it’s up to us to give them a warm welcome and set a positive tone for their day!
Welcome Team, Ticket Scanning, Wristbanding, Queue Stewarding
These role profiles are designed to give you a good idea of what it will be like volunteering with us on site, however due to the ever changing nature of festivals and events, our team is expected to be flexible and therefore roles are subject to change or adaptation to meet the needs at any time.
